Houston Dinner Club Picks: Game Watching Edition

Updated: Apr 4, 2023

Wondering where to go to watch the game? Read our picks below.

EZ's Liquor Lounge

Make this your starting point on White Oak and you won't be disappointed. Get a drink and a bite, play some pool while you watch the game, and then bar hop if you need a change of scene to one of the many other bars on the street.

West Alabama Icehouse

This casual institution keeps it basic in the best way. Get your beer from the bar, and then grab tacos at Tacos Tierra Caliente before grabbing a picnic table!

Pitch 25

SO MANY TVS. Pitch 25 knows sports, plus the bites and drinks never disappoint! Head to 8th Wonder before or after the game, too!

Heights Biergarten

Sure, you could head to one of the many bars on West 20th, and you will surely find the good time and game watching experience you are looking for! OR you can head to Heights Biergarten and enjoy the swings, the famous craft cocktails, and sweet potato tots!

Kirby Icehouse

Kirby Icehouse has cemented itself as one of the most popular bars in Houston, with a fantastic patio and some of the longest bars in the city! Plus, a frozen Kirby tea really hits the spot on a hot day! With locations in Upper Kirby and Memorial City, the only thing you need to know is to get there early to claim a spot!

The Rustic

This spot has some of the BEST bar food, tasty drinks, live music in the evenings, and plenty of TVs - what more could you ask for? Easy to get to after work, for those who work in the Galleria-area or Downtown.

Cedar Creek

Yeah, we know what we said about W 20th, but the truth is - they do have some of the best bars for game watching. Bring your dog, bring your family, and bring your crew, and hang out at this rustic spot! We love their laid-back patio, tasty food, and family-friendly vibe. (We love all the Creek concepts, too!)

Houston Breweries

Okay, this is broad, but we really do love a good brewery for watching the game. Karbach, St. Arnold's, Eureka Heights, Urban South, True Anomaly, and 8th Wonder all have good set-ups for catching the game.

Palace Social

Want to hang out in the AC and enjoy some of the best frozen drinks? Head over to Palace Social! This spot has tons of TVs and other entertainment, so if you need to give the kids an activity (or you just want to practice your golf swing while watching the game), head here!

Christian's Tailgate & Little Woodrow's

I would be remiss if I didn't mention these Houston main-stays, as well. Many locations, always a good time.

Johnny McElroy's Irish Pub & Patio

This is a neighborhood spot, no doubt, but we do love this bar. It has everything you need to be comfortable watching the games with super friendly staff, and you won't have to worry too much about parking and traffic to get here!

Henderson Heights

See our comments about Johnny McElroy's - good drinks, good food, great neighborhood spot!
